Message connections and the o-rings on the expansion valve inside the evaporator box.

For the sake of finding the leak, it is possible to partially charge the system without an engine. Immersing the R-134a can in a pan of hot water will cause the refrigerant to boil off and force it into your system.

You can then detect leaking o-rings with a soapy water solution.

While the engine is out is the best time to do a correct retrofit. Flush all of the lines, replace o-rings, remove the evaporator box and flush out the evaporator, etc
